Take the Power Back | simple strength home page

The times are changing. The powers that be, private health care, nutritionists, health insurance and good old government have realised that personal responsibility for health is the key to wellbeing. The upside is, you are in charge. The downside is, there are no end of companies who want to commodify life skills and sell you solutions that are already yours for the taking. Don?t buy into it. Take the power back.

We can all do with help, support, useable information and their are plenty of great people, doing good work, to provide accessible tools to help you on the way. But, the more we leave it in the hands of others the less empowered we are.

Three things you can do right now?

  1. Stop thinking training and start think movement. Walking, tai chi, running, yoga, martial arts, parkour, gymnastics, kettlebells?the list is endless. Find something and commit to moving. Go over to the 100 Rep Challenge and see how folk are getting some movement in their day.
  2. Make a meal. No, don?t heat up some lean mean ready meal concoted in a laboratory with a 2017 best before date that you sit and eat whilst watching yet another cooking show on TV. Prepare something from scratch. Raw ingredients. Something simple and satisfying, better yet, sit down and share it with someone you love. No TV required. Wine optional.
  3. Stop and breathe. The most under rated stress reduction tool on the planet. The only autonomic function you control can be used to hit the reset button. Want to know how, try simple Foundation Breathing.
